| Precision Blasting provided both drilling and blasting services along with hydraulic rock hammer services for the project, which will house all Atlanta airport rental car companies. Precision Blasting performed drilling and blasting operations on a trench line that needed to be installed as airport officials watched. The blast was well matted and detonation of the blast was successful without any incident. The contractor installing the utilities, Ronny D. Jones Enterprises, also encountered rock in an area where an underground tank was to be installed The airport officials put a no-blast zone in this area. Tank dimensions were approximately 50′ long by 40′ wdie by 15′ deep. The contractor encountered rock three feet down from the ground surface. Precision Blasting used one of our hydraulic drills to drill pilot relief holes to perforate the rock and the hydraulic hammer was used to assist with the rock removal. The rock was able to be excavated and the tank was installed without any blasting taking place. |
